Sometimes you find a stitch that you just love to knit. I feel that way about the Garter Rib Stitch.
Cedar Rock dishcloth and washcloth knitting pattern was partly designed by using the Garter Rib Stitch. It was such a fun knit that several more pieces using the same stitch pattern are in the works. Be on the lookout for the Blue Ridge dishtowel & hand towel pattern and the Darby baby blanket pattern coming soon.
Garter Rib Stitch is a 2-row pattern repeat using only knit and purl stitches alternating in a sequence.
2-row pattern repeat means that it only takes two rows to complete the look of the stitch. The less rows in the repeat, the easier the pattern is to memorize. The easier a pattern is to memorize, the quicker and easier it is to knit.
Being a 2-row repeat pattern makes Cedar Rock a GREAT pattern for
- practicing your knit & purl stitches
- finding a good knitting rhythm
- practicing becoming a faster knitter
- knitting in public
- knitting while watching TV or a movie
- listening to music
- talking to family or other knitters in a group or class
- quick & easy for making multiples for selling or for gifts
