Sometimes describing the Knit So Easy patterns is the hardest part of designing. Seeing it in my head and then watching it unfold as I sample test, I can “see” it, but I know you, my readers, need to see it, too! That is why I add several pictures to each blog description and a picture on the pattern once it is ready to publish.

Ellendale dishcloth knitting pattern has a 4 row pattern repeat. That means you repeat those same four rows several times to complete the piece. Once of the rows is knit stiches only, one of mostly purl with a couple of knit stitches on each end and the two are a combination of knit and purl stitches.

Even thought the Ellendale uses only knit and purl stitches, the design creates a beautiful textured cloth. We all know texture is good for cleaning dishes and wiping counters. As with all Knit So Easy dishcloth knitting patterns, Ellendale makes a beautiful washcloth, too. Texture is good for washcloths as well, feels nice when washing and looks so pretty!

All Knit So Easy dishcloth and washcloth patterns require 100% cotton yarn. You can use any worsted weight/Aran weight 100% cotton. Two of my favorites are I Love this Cotton by Hobby Lobby and Knit Pick’s Dishie.
